With very heavy hearts, we said goodbye to a very special freckled face friend Nika, Rolyart’s Hole In One. Nika was Zoey’s only daughter, and like her mother, loved working in the field and chasing birds. She ran agility with our close friend Cyndi Sexton and loved it. You just couldn’t help smiling whenever you watched her.
Born weighing only four ounces and taking several weeks making it to a pound we knew her time with us would be limited. Nika lost a tough battle with congenital kidney and liver disease at only 2 ½ years old, however in her very short life, she made more friends and fans than most of us will ever know in a lifetime. The saying “things are brought into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime” apply to Nika. She might have only been with us for a short time, but the lessons she reminded us about will last a lifetime. The most important thing is to be happy for what you have every day, as you never know what tomorrow will bring.
Have fun chasing those birds and squirrels Sneaky Neaky. We miss you so very very much.
